Hi,

We’re Shaun and Katie.

Life looks a little different for us right now than we’ve known so far. The past couple years have been a pretty big reset for us, in the best way possible—we’ve come alive to a new way of life.

We started to realise what really matters to us.
Beauty. Safety. Wonder.
These have become our family’s guiding values and are what we pray embody this creative studio too.

Earth & Shelter is a space for us to bring what we do best with the hope that we might bring the best out of you and what you do best, too.

After over a decade of working professionally in multidisciplinary creative roles across design, video, audio and more, creating everything from banners and brochures to websites and wallpapers, we’re now bringing these skills together in our own unique way to champion a cause we believe in—you and the good work you’re doing.

With eyes wide open to the possibilities ahead of us, our family has set off on a new adventure. We made the courageous—crazy, scary, maybe a little bit wild—decision to sell our house and hit the road with our little family, travelling Australia for the year as we embark on this new chapter.

We’re working while we go, taking our time to experience as much of the community and life of this beautiful country as we can—already meeting new friends along the way. It’s such a special thing, but we weren’t ready for all the goodbyes, even if just for now, from all the people we’ve met and places we’ve called home.

Our humble studio is still just getting started. While we’re finding our feet, we’re conscientiously walking with people who are willing to take a little leap of faith on us at this stage in our journey. As we slowly build, we’re documenting the work we’ve done and the people who we’ve walked with.

We want to create work that lasts, so everything we produce is as unique as each client and their own unique work.

Our main focus is creating a beautiful online home for your business. Beautiful as it’s our art, online as that’s our canvas, and home as that’s our aim—to create a space where you, your values, your work, and how you want people to feel when their road crosses with yours, is meticulously and honestly represented in your corner of the internet. A place online that brings your business to life in a new way, that you’re proud of, and that breathes fresh wind into your sails every time your sometimes weary hands scroll through its pages again.

When and if it’s what you’re feeling stirred in, we can also help keep your online home fresh with beautifully created, custom, high-quality podcasts where we handle all the setup, recording, production and distribution so that you can stay focused and sharp on simply showing up with your message.

At the moment we have the capacity to build a new beautiful online home for between 6–8 clients each year. That allows us the time and space to understand and build just what you need, while also faithfully managing the websites of our existing clients.

Our podcasting work fits in a little differently, so we have flexibility to look at it on a case by case basis and chat about what will work best.

This became a long letter, hopefully for those who read it it’s helpful to hear our heart and know where we are now.

It’s our desire that this creative studio will be a grounded place and a safe place. That’s where we got our name, and that’s what Earth & Shelter is for us.

Why ‘Earth & Shelter’?

We chose the name carefully:

‘Earth’
Because we want to be grounded people. We want to walk from a place of reality, humility, and being present to the people in front of us.

‘Shelter’
Because that’s what we hope to offer—space where people feel safe enough to build something honest, without fear or pressure.
